SigmaCommissioning™ is the key technology of BES&T. It is the process of integrating all commissioning functions of a new plant into a single program to transition plant systems from a construction environment to an operational plant environment. Each major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) has defined procedures for commissioning. Until SigmaCommissioning™, these procedures were not coordinated with other plant activities.
BES&T engineers have made a science out of understanding the condition of each major component of a plant at the completion of construction. BES&T engineers also rigorously studied the condition of these same components after stable plant operation has been achieved. Based on this knowledge, BES&T engineers devised specialized technologies to rapidly drive plant systems from a construction site condition to a stable operational state. In crafting these technologies, BES&T devised methods that integrated separate commissioning functions into a single solution. BES&T engineers worked closely with all major OEMs to insure that all OEM requirements were met or exceeded.

Individual BES&T technologies for the commissioning of steam systems in power plant and petrochemical facilities include:
FrothFlush™ – A flushing process that displaces short slugs of frothed water through condensate, closed cooling water, boiler feedwater and fuel gas piping systems at velocities in excess of 25 feet per second.
SigmaClean™ – A degreasing and passivation process the removes hydrocarbon contamination from system surfaces while converting iron oxides to desirable magnetite.
SigmaSolv™ – A process that degreases, pickles and passivates system metal surfaces at moderate temperatures with a single volume fill.
SigmaBlow™ – A steamblow process that utilizes a temporary bypass system to remove both particulate and nonparticulate contamination from steam prior to the discharge of the steamblow exhaust into the plant condenser.
